Movie Review: I Robot
This movie presented a future
scenario were robots were intently designed to help human
beings do their daily task easily with less efforts. They obliged the
robots to be the slaves of their command. The director presented the
year 2035 as well perceived by humans now a days.
They have entered an age where Artificial intelligence
along with simulations have stepped ahead making new possibilities with
ease. As perceived any new technology will fascinate the society with
its positives but yet shortly proceeded by its cons and hazards.
Scientists and technologists have worked together to serve humanity but too
much dependence and knowledge led all their efforts go in vain.
Robotics,
genetic engineering, nuclear technology , stem cells research and
all many similar emerging technologies are promising to improve the lifestyles
of human providing them extra luxury and fruits of heaven without much efforts.
But yes like all humans are not angels , all creation may not be a blessing. An
evil creation from a single evil mind may lead to a mass destruction or even
may disrepute other technological invention. A new technology or creation may
be made either with an intention to benefit mankind but may be
intended to destroy the entire humanity. In this film they presented that
robots were obliged to follow the 3 rules:
1. A robot may not injure a human being or through inaction, allow a
human being to come to harm.
2. Robots must obey orders given to it by human beings except where
such orders would conflict with the first law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such
protection does not conflict with the first or second law.
But the problem arised where
artificial intelligence stepped ahead and incurred feelings
of hatred towards human beings. On the other hand robotics
technology helped counter those evil robots using Nanomites and helped the Corp
Snooper to have a new robotic arm as a replacement to original
one damag
ed in a car accident.
It really depends upon a person, upon
a society and people in general as to how they chose to live with the new
inventing technologies. A knife on one hand may be a
useful tool to cut vegetables but on the other may be a curse as it
may kill millions. Any new technology invented should be introduced with a lot
care , rules and regulations, as a single wrong move may initiate a mass
destruction. Relating all my content to nanotechnology I must conclude that
each technology must be accompanied with its regulation and a sense of responsibility of
each citizen towards benefit of entire humanity not just one own’s self.
